Review

This film is supposed to be based on a true story. The story line actually did feel a bit over the top so maybe they took some artistic license making it more watchable on the big screen. When I was watching the movie I kept thinking that this couldn’t have been real “as is”.

The movie was fast moving with a lot of action. I know many were looking forward to the confrontations between Louis Fan and Xing Yu especially as they were portrayed to be on equal footing of fighting skill set.

There was some comedy too which broke up the story and action into manageable chunks.

Louis Fan is always great to watch despite some over acting and being thrown around his characters always seem invincible.

The hospital where they took one of the characters was a bit scary, worse than any NHS place I’ve been.

They didn’t get to the snowstorm part until the later part of the movie. Also, there was no sign of it snowing, just snow on the ground and trees.

Summary

iQiyi rated this 9.1. MyDramaList 7.4. The MyDramaList score was more of what I was thinking. It was a good movie, lots of action and fun, but there something that didn’t quite ring true that it was a “true story”. A 1 hour 29 min well spent though, I will give it 4/5.
