Line Walker: The Prelude (使徒行者2) is the 2nd season in the Line Walker drama action series from Hong Kong, originally broadcast in 2017.

About

Following an explosion that killed all of Cheuk Hoi’s undercover cops in Thailand and the death of another cop, he tries to find other undercover’s while combating the evil Victor.

Review

I reviewed the first season of Line Walker here.

As the title of the show suggest this series is before the events of the first Line Walker series. You get to see how the characters became to be prior to the events of the first season.

You don’t really need to see the 1st season to appreciate this 2nd season, I suppose it helps but not a must.

The series was well done. The opening titles are better than the average TVB series, they must have invested some time and money to the look and feel.

The story was really slow in parts, they could have reduced the number of episodes by 50% if they took out the slow moving romantic parts or comedy banter between two characters. I think I dropped off to sleep during a few episodes as a result.

Michael Mui and Benz Hui were the obvious big stars of the show. Pakho Chau seemed a little spaced out, maybe that was how his character was written. Moses Chan played his bad character well but they should have done something with his hair, like a skunk on his head. Benjamin Yuen took his clothes off a lot. Some of the female characters I didn’t think they wrote well, such as Scarlett falling in love with Victor, and one of the undercover cops being a bit scatterbrained.

There is another Line Walker series after this, called Bull Fight. Line Walker is 30 episodes but Bull Fight is 37, I hope its not so slow moving.
